Day Ledger

See where your day actually goes

See where your time and energy go. A daily check-in for the areas of life that use up your hours: work, family, your health goals, and the time that quietly disappears into a screen. Each evening you account for your 24 hours. Over a week or a month, you see the pattern.

A sample day. Yours will look different, and that is the point.

Why this exists

Most of us know we are tired. Fewer of us know where the hours went. Time and energy are spent in small amounts across many parts of life, and the parts that feel biggest are not always the parts that take the most.

This app is not a productivity tracker and it does not grade you. It gives you a plain picture of how you allocated your day so you can decide if that is how you want to spend it.

What it helps you do

How it works

  1. Check in at the end of your day. Set the hours each area took, using sliders in half-hour steps. Start from yesterday or from your own template, and fill in any day you missed.
  2. Watch your total. A running bar shows whether you are under, balanced or over the hours in your day.
  3. Review your week or month. The summary shows each area's share of your time, your average per day, and how your days compare.

The seven areas

Everything in a day fits into one of these, so there is nothing to set up.

Day Ledger

Seven areas cover everything that draws on your day. Each evening, set how many hours each one took. Your total can't go past 24 hours, and the app shows how many are still unaccounted for.
